What's New?
Thanks to everyone who contributed to the survey of
preferred types of training/education resources for this site.
The overwhelming majority (87%) of respondents would like the information to be at a professional level, and the most popular area was noise (60%), followed by sound studies and psychophysics (both 40%).
Regarding the format of the materials, the most popular is "Calculators, visualisers, converters etc", (73%) followed by "Downloadable guides", "Ask-an-expert", "Equipment diagrams and teardowns" and "Journals and periodicals"
Taking these in turn: the calculators links page on this site includes all those we could find - now over 170, but the search is ongoing; any new ones will be flagged up on this main page. One of the most useful downloadable guides is the UK Health and Safety Executive's "Noise at Work, a Brief Guide to Controlling the Risks"; a link to this is below. Further guides will be added from now on; also, please let us know of any that you would recommend.
For "Ask an expert" : if anyone would be willing to handle enquiries, please let me know (via the contacts page).
For both Equipment diagrams/teardowns and Journals and periodicals: watch this space!
